Our
goal is to provide the best medical services for your child while they
are at school but we need your help to make that possible. Here are a
few health rules that families should be aware of while attending
Shining Stars.
Immunization
Immunizations
are a unique concern at Shining Stars due to the age of the
students. Most children need shots at three, four, and five years of age
which makes preschool a busy time for immunizations. The health office
is required to verify all students are in compliance with New Mexico and
RRPSE Immunization polices. This means student’s immunization are
copied and tracked for needed updates. Families can help through
ensuring their child receives immunizations on time and provides a copy
to the health office.
Illness Attendance Policy
Children
may not attend school if they have had the following symptoms in the
last 24 hours. This helps keep staff and other students safe and
healthy:
*Elevated temperature of 100 degrees or greater
*Vomiting, nausea, or severe abdominal pain
*Diarrhea
*significant injury
*symptoms not responding to treatment
Medication
All
medication is dispensed according to RRPS policy and procedures. This
policy is strictly enforced and helps ensure the health of all students
on campus.
*Prescription medications will be dispensed in
the health office when accompanied by a complete Medication
Authorization Form and the medication is in its original pharmacy
labeled container.
*Over the counter (Store Bought)
medication will be accompanied in an original sealed container
accompanied by a completed “Over the counter” medication form.
As
a reminder, please keep the school and health office informed of your
child’s health, especially for new conditions or changes to current
health problems. This allows us to provide the most up-to-date care
possible.
