Posted on 05/25/2018
The Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education is nearing the conclusion of the complex process of reviewing and revising the district's policy manual.  While individual policies have been revised and updated over the years to accommodate changes in state and federal law, this comprehensive review will consider not only individual policies, but the organization of the manual as a whole.

The board is currently reviewing and seeking public comment on the following policies:

At the 5/29 meeting, the board will also conduct a second reading of the 900 Series policies (School Administration) and a first reading of policies 908 and 619

The board has completed its review and approval of the first eight series of policies:

These policies will not be in force until the board adopts the new policy manual in its entirety after completion of all of the changes and revisions (anticipated in the summer of 2018).  Until thenthe current RRPS policy manual remains in force and is available for public viewing here.

All workshops are at 5:30 PM at the District Training Center, 500 Laser Rd. NE, unless otherwise noted.  The public may sign up to comment prior to the beginning of the meeting.

Major policy changes are required to undergo a minimum of two readings (discussions) by the board before they become final.  The policy review process will continue throughout the 2017-18 school year.
